In early February, the Jiangnan region was gripped by a lingering spring chill and a severe epidemic, with people staying home to “escape the outbreak.” Yet at this very moment, the project manager of Tianqi New Energy in Daqing, though at home, was deeply worried and unable to find peace of mind.
In early February, the Jiangnan region was gripped by a lingering spring chill and a severe epidemic, with people staying home to “escape the virus.” Yet at this very moment, Tianqi New Energy’s Daqing project manager, though safely at home, remained deeply worried and unsettled. After nearly two years of arduous effort, the Daqing new-energy project had entered its critical “final sprint” phase. Originally, the plan was to head straight to Daqing as soon as the Spring Festival holiday ended, coordinating and securing the most crucial land‑use approvals. But unforeseen circumstances struck: a sudden outbreak threw all plans into disarray. Prioritizing epidemic prevention, valuing professional responsibilities, implementing scientific control measures, and forging ahead with courage—though, starting February 10, the new-energy division established an online project coordination mechanism with daily communications, progress on the ground still stalled without personnel on site. To minimize pandemic risks, the project manager thoughtfully arranged for the team to depart in three staggered groups; by the end of March, all members had arrived in Daqing, and project work had been fully launched. Between Daqing, Changchun, Harbin, and Anda, the project manager led his team nonstop, finalizing the last-minute details before construction could begin with all project partners.
The epidemic situation in the three northeastern provinces had originally been stable, but recently, there has been a sudden surge in returning travelers at Heilongjiang’s border crossings, leading to an unexpectedly severe防疫 situation. The Daqing project team is now facing a new round of challenges. Tianqi headquarters has shown continuous care, with leadership mandating daily morning and evening safety reports, ensuring everything from workplace protection to dining details, as well as timely provision of preventive medications.
Let’s show a little more care and send our regards to those Tianqi employees who are working on the front lines. They, too, have wives, children, and loved ones to care for; they still receive the same salary and enjoy no special benefits.
